Niklas Kronwall headed for knee surgery

It appears Niklas Kronwall may spend another season struggling to stay healthy. Despite only being 29-years-old he missed almost half of last season and 20 games two years before that making him a bit unreliable to lace them up.

Yes his rugged style of skill and team support make him a sexy name but he offers your fantasy team absolutely nothing while out. This surgery comes after Kronwall experiencing discomfort in his knee and GM Ken Holland does not seem too concerned. Never trust a knee injury, even if the team promises a speedy recovery the player needs to test it out and really put force on it.

Skating puts an intense amount of pressure on the knee so stray away until you actually see him in game form. With Nicklas Lidstrom and Brian Rafalski still manning the points, a third defender on an aging team seems less attractive when you add the prefix injury prone.
