Staal and Malkin Taking Warmups; Likely Playing

Numerous sources over Twitter are saying both Evgeni Malking and Jordan Staal are taking part in warmups. Josh Yohe of The Tribune-Review, via Twitter, has said both are playing.

We already knew Sidney Crosby would not play tonight but the injuries just continue to pile up in Pittsburgh. The Penguins could play tonight without Jordan Staal and Evgeni Malkin tonight as coach Dan Blysma announced this morning that they would be game-time decisions.

Malkin currently leads the team in scoring with 10 goals and 28 points through only 23 games. If he can’t play, Pascal Dupuis is expected to move to the top line center role. Typically we would think the Pens automatically lose but Blysma was able to win with the same lineup or less last season so this scrappy group should not be counted out.
