Philadelphia Flyers acquire Nate Thompson, Derek Grant in separate trades

The Philadelphia Flyers made two moves Monday morning acquiring forwards Nate Thompson and Derek Grant.

Thompson was acquired from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a 2021 fifth-round pick, while Grant was acquired from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Kyle Criscuolo and a fourth-round pick.

Thompson, 35, has appeared in 63 games for the Canadiens this year scoring four goals and 10 assists. He is a UFA at season’s end and has a cap hit of $1-million.

Grant, meanwhile, is a UFA at the end of the year and has a cap hit of $700,000. The 29-year-old has appeared in 49 games for the Ducks this year scoring 14 goals and six assists.

Criscuolo has played in 40 games for the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms scoring eight goals and 16 assists.
