The Wild acquired Tyler Ennis, Marcus Foligno and a 2018 3rd round pick from the Sabres for Marco Scandella, Jason Pominville and a 2018 4th round pick.
Ennis scored 20-plus goals and 40-plus points in back-to-back seasons, but registered just eight goals and 16 assists (24 points) in 74 games in two injury plagued seasons over the last couple of years. Ennis (undisclosed) is expected to play on Friday.
Ennis returned to the lineup on Monday, but was scratched in the second half of the back-to-back to ease him back into action. He was back on the first line this morning and heads into Friday with two goals and one assist in 13 games.
Ennis (groin) could return to the Sabres’ lineup on Monday.
Ennis has missed the last 30 games after undergoing groin surgery on November 10th. Ennis skated on the Sabres’ top line with Ryan O’Reilly and Kyle Okposo in Sunday’s practice and also played on the second power play unit as well. Ennis has one goal and one assist in 12 games earlier this season.
Ennis (sports hernia) resumed skating this week.

Ennis has missed the last four games and could be out until mid-January after undergoing surgery on a double sports hernia. The injuries keep mounting for the Sabres and this is now the second straight season that Ennis has missed a lengthy period of time.
Ennis (mid-body) will not play on Wednesday.
Ennis was hurt in Monday’s game in Boston and it will keep him out of tonight’s game vs. the Senators. Ennis is listed as day-to-day and will be replaced by Evander Kane, who will return from broken ribs.
