Nyquist will sit for roster management purposes as the Predators look to get him some rest on the tail-end of their back-to-back. One of Jaret Anderson-Dolan or Cody Glass will likely take his place in the lineup.

Nyquist has scored 15 goals with 33 assists (48 points) in 61 games with the Red Wings and the pending free agent heads to San Jose where he joins one of the deepest forward groups in the NHL. With the Sharks’ top-6 pretty much cemented in place, the third line with Joe Thornton seems like a logical landing spot for Nqyuist.

Nyquist left Sunday's game in Edmonton with a lower-body injury following a knee-on-knee collision and never returned. He was able to take to the ice this morning, which is a good sign, but his status for tonight's game remains up in the air.

Nyquist missed Monday’s practice with an illness, but was on the ice for today’s morning skate and will be in the lineup against Toronto. Nyquist registered two shots in 13:48 TOI in his return from suspension and will skate with Henrik Zetterberg and Tomas Tatar tonight.
