Sekera has missed the last two games with an illness, but is expected to return to the lineup tonight in Columbus. Sekera has had a nice season, collecting four goals and 13 assists (17 points) in 36 games. Expect him to draw back into the lineup on the second pair with Kris Russell.

Sekera passed his physical and has been cleared to play tonight, so it is up to coach Darryl Sutter to decide whether or not Sekera will be in the lineup tonight. It seems likely that he will play, but monitor his status during pre-game warmups.

The Kings have acquired Andrej Sekera from the Hurricanes for a 2015 1st round pick and prospect Roland McKeown
Sekera is a pending unrestricted free agent, but definitely bolsters the Kings blue line in the short term. Defence was not a huge need for the Kings until Slava Voynov ran into trouble with the law. Sekera is a strong puck-moving defenseman, who brings a solid amount of offence to the table. He has 19 points (2G / 17A) in 57 games this season.
