Zach Redmond News

The Sabres have acquired Zach Redmond from the Canadiens for Nicolas Deslauriers.

Redmond split the 2016-17 season between the AHL and NHL. He had five assists in 16 games with the Canadiens and 18 points (4G / 14A) in 26 contests with the St. John’s IceCaps (AHL). He is nothing more than an AHL D-man or seventh/depth defenseman for the Sabres.

#NHLJets recall Zach Redmond from conditioning assignment with St. John's IceCaps. Redmond earned two assists in two games over the weekend.

Like the Karlsson return, this is nothing short of spectacular. Redmond suffered a life-threatning laceration to his leg in practice earlier this season. He expected to miss the rest of the season because of the incident, but he is already back in the NHL. With Zach Bogosian out with a concussion, the door is open for Redmond to get back in the lineup. We'll have to wait and see if it is him, Derek Meech or Jacob Trouba tonight.
