Calle Jarnkrok News
Jarnkrok (lower-body) skated this morning; questionable for Game 1.
The Predators signed Calle Jarnkrok to a six-year contract extension worth $12 million ($2.0M AAV).
Jarnkrok, 24, appeared in 74 games with the Predators in 2015-16, scoring 16 goals with 14 assists (30 points). The young Swede has 57 points (25G / 32A) in 167 career NHL games and will likely start the 2016-17 season on the third line, but could work his way into the Predators’ top-6 as the season progresses.
Jarnkrok (illness) returned to practice on Tuesday.
Jarnkrok missed Saturday’s game and Sunday’s practice, but he was back at practice this morning, which suggests that he could be back in the lineup on Wednesday in San Jose. Jarnkrok has just one assist in seven games this season.
Jarnkrok is day-to-day with an illness.
Jarnkrok is battling an illness and is questionable for the season finale on Saturday. An illness might force him out of just one game, but he should be ready for the playoffs.
Jarnkrok will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday.
Jarnkrok has yet to record a point while piling up 11 shots and two PIMs in eight games this season. He will take a seat tonight with Gabriel Bourque and Matt Cullen entering the lineup. He has not been all that bad for the Predaotrs this season, but they want more offence from the 23-year-old.
The Predators have recalled Calle Jarnkrok form Milwaukee (AHL).
Jarnkrok, who was acquired from the Red Wings at the trade deadline in a deal that sent veteran David Legwand to Detroit, is expected to make his NHL debut on Friday. Jarnkrok's recall was prompted by an upper-body injury to Paul Gaustad. Jarnkrok earned the recall after scoring five goals with two assists (seven points) in his first five games with Milwaukee. He is expected to centre Gabriel Bourque and Craig Smith.
The Red Wings have traded Patrick Eaves, Calle Jarnkrok and a third-round pick to the Predators for David Legwand.
Jarnkrok and the third-round pick is what the Predators were after, Eaves was simply to open up room on the Red Wings roster. Jarnkrok, 22, was a second-round pick (51st overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Jarnkrok is in his first full season with the Griffins (AHL) and has 13 goals and 23 assists (36 points) in 57 games. There are concerns surrounding Jarnkrok wanting to go back and play in Sweden, but the Predators will do everything they can so that does not happen.
