The Canucks have recalled Tyler Graovac from Utica (AHL).

With Jay Beagle missing Tuesday's game, Graovac's call-up suggests that he will replace Beagle in the lineup on Thursday. Graovac, who has nine points (7G / 2A) in 62 career NHL games, has one goal in six AHL games this season.

Graovac, 23, has spent the majority of the season in Minnesota, where he has high points (7G / 1A) in 49 games this season. The former seventh round pick heads back to Iowa, where he has seven goals and one assist in 10 games.

Graovac cleared waivers and was sent to Iowa, where he has recorded three goals and one assist in eight games. He will take Alex Tuch’s spot on the roster and should centre the fourth line on Tuesday. The 23-year-old has six goals in 45 games this season.

Graovac was injured in the season debut and was nearing a return but reaggravated his injury in practice last week. Graovac will miss approximately six weeks which would put him on pace to be back in mid-December.

Graovac was injured in the Wild’s season opener and will be out for at least two weeks. Luckily for the Wild it looks like Justin Fontaine is set to return this week, so he will slide into Graovac’s role on the third line.

Graovac, 21, was the Wild’s seventh round pick (191st overall) in 2011. Graovac has 12 goals and 12 assists (24 points) in 31 games with Iowa this season. He could make his NHL debut on Monday in Winnipeg.
