Raanta leads the Coyotes onto the ice for warmups.
Raanta stopped 44 of 48 shots in the Coyotes 4-1 loss to the Lightning on Thursday. Despite the loss, Raanta stood tall against one of the best teams in the NHL. Since returning to the Coyotes crease, Raanta has stopped an impressive 77 of 82 shots (.939 SV%) in just two games. He’ll likely face a ton of rubber again tonight with the Penguins in town.

Raanta stopped 33 of 34 shots in the Coyotes 1-0 loss to the Blue Jackets last Saturday. It was a nice return to the crease for Raanta, who has stopped 99 of the last 103 shots (.961 SV%) he has faced dating back to before his injury. Raanta has a rough matchup tonight with the Lightning in town—he is 1-2-1 with a 2.38 GAA and .926 SV% on home ice.

Raanta will start Saturday in Columbus.
Raanta missed six games with an upper-body injury but was available to be Scott Wedgewood’s backup on Thursday to give him a few extra days of recovery. After returning from injury the first time, Raanta went 4-4-1 with a 2.75 GAA and .915 SV% in 10 games before ending up on IR a second time. He will be in tough against an up-and-down Blue Jackets team that comes in at 18-10-1 and first in the Metropolitan Division.

Injury
Raanta (upper-body) has been cleared to play, but will backup Scott Wedgewood on Thursday.
Raanta has missed the last six games with an upper-body injury but will return as the Coyotes’ backup tonight in Boston. Wedgewood will make his seventh consecutive start and Raanta should be back by the weekend.

Raanta (upper-body) will not travel to Edmonton (TUE) but could meet the team in Calgary (THU).
Raanta will miss his third straight game as he continues to battle and upper-body injury that he suffered last Wednesday. With Raanta out, look for Scott Wedgewood to face the Oilers tomorrow but Raanta could be ready to get into the crease by Thursday.

Raanta will make his eighth straight start on Wednesday.
Raanta allowed one goal on 28 shots in the Coyotes win in Toronto on Monday. Raanta has now won three straight games while posting an impressive 2.33 GAA and .928 SV%. It took Raanta and the Coyotes some time to get their legs under them, but they are playing good hockey heading back home for tonight’s meeting with the Sharks.

Raanta will start Saturday in Ottawa.
Raanta allowed four goals on 37 shots in the Coyotes’ win in Montreal on Thursday. Rant snapped a four-game losing streak with the win, but remains a risky option as long as the Coyotes aren’t playing well in front of him. He comes into the weekend with a 3.27 GAA and .903 SV% in 10 games this season.

Raanta will start Thursday in Montreal.
Raanta was pulled after he allowed three goals on 13 shots in the Coyotes’ loss in Winnipeg on Tuesday. It was one of Raanta’s worst outings of the season and he now comes into Thursday on a four game losing streak, allowing a combined 11 goals on 108 shots (.899 SV%). He will take on a Habs team that has won four of their last six (4-1-1).

Raanta will start Tuesday in Winnipeg.
Raanta allowed three goals on 20 shots in the Coyotes’ loss to the Jets on Saturday. Despite losing all three of his starts last week while posting a 2.65 GAA and .916 SV%, Raanta will get another crack at the Jets tonight in Winnipeg. Raanta has gone 0-2-1 with a 3.70 GAA and .900 SV% in three road starts this season.
