Gaudreau (finger) returned to the ice on Wednesday; skated in a non-contact jersey.
Gaudreau has missed the last two weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured finger. Gaudreau’s return to the ice is a positive step for the Flames’ winger, but he isn’t nearing a return until he ditches the non-contact sweater.
Gaudreau will undergo surgery to repair a fractured finger on Wednesday; out indefinitely.
Gaudreau fractured his finger on a slash on Tuesday and will be out for the foreseeable future. The Flames confirmed that he will undergo surgery, but they didn’t announce a timetable for his return. With Gaudreau out on Wednesday, look for Sam Bennett to move to the Flames’ top-line.
Gaudreau left Tuesday’s game with an arm injury and did not return.
Gaudreau was injured on a slash during last night’s shutout win over the Wild. Following the game, head coach Glen Gulutzan did not have an update on Gaudreau’s status, but expect to see on later this afternoon before the Flames take on the Coyotes.
The Flames have signed Johnny Gaudreau to a six-year deal worth $40.5 million ($6.75M AAV).
Gaudreau and the Flames waited until the final hour to get a deal done, but it was worth it for both the player and the team. Gaudreau gets $6.75 million per season and the Flames get one of the most dynamic wingers in the league for under $7 million per seasons. In his first two years in the NHL, Gaudreau is 12th in scoring, having picked up 54 goals and 88 assists (142 points) in 159 games. He definitely a top-5 left wing heading into 2016-17, with the potential to be among the top-3 at the position.
Gaudreau (upper-body) will be a game-time decision on Thursday.
Gaudreau has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury, but will be a game-time decision in Los Angeles. “I would love to play, but it’s up to the docs, up to the coaches, to see if I’m 100%.” Monitor Gaudreau’s status when the Flames hit the ice for warmups at 10:00 p.m. ET.

Gaudreau missed the morning skate and was listed as a game-time decision. Taking warmups is a good sign that Gaudreau will be in the lineup. If he plays, Brian McGrattan will be a healthy scratch and Lance Bouma will move to the fourth line.

Gaudreau has been on fire lately, posting two goals and six assists in seven games since being a healthy scratch on October 17th. Expect Brian McGrattan to slide into the lineup if Gaudreau can't go.
Gaudreau will be back in the lineup Sunday.
Gaudreau served as a healthy scratch in the Flames loss to the Blue Jackets on Friday. 'Johnny Hockey' has yet to record a point in five games this season. Josh Jooris will come out of the lineup to make room for Gaudreau.
