The Oilers have signed Seth Griffith to a two-year, two-way contract.

Griffith has been terrific at the AHL-level since he turned pro in 2014 but has had very little success in the NHL. Most recently, Griffith had 41 points (21G / 20A) in 58 games with the Manitoba Moose (AHL) and will likely start 2021 in Bakersfield (AHL).

The Jets have signed Seth Griffith to a one-year, $700K contract extension.

Griffith has bounced around the NHL quite a bit but has been an excellent point producer in the AHL. Griffith led Manitoba (AHL) in points, scoring 16 goals with 41 assists (57 points) in 69 games last season. The Jets have now inked their two leading AHL scorers from a year ago after also signing Logan Shaw last week.

The Sabres have recalled Seth Griffith from Rochester (AHL).

With Kyle Okposo’s wife in labour and questionable for Wednesday, Griffith has been recalled to presumably take his spot in the lineup. Griffith had three points (2G / 1A) in 18 games with the Sabres earlier this season. During his time in Rochester, he has 13 goals and 21 assists (34 points) in 36 games.

The Maple Leafs have reclaimed Seth Griffith off of waivers from Florida and sent him to Toronto (AHL).

Griffith picked up five assists in 21 games with the Panthers after being claimed from Toronto earlier in the year. The 24-year-old has great hands, but the consensus seems to be that he doesn’t have the speed to be a regular NHLer. Griffith will head to the AHL—he had 77 points (24G / 53A) in 57 AHL games with Providence last season.

Griffith (concussion) will return to the Panthers’ lineup on Friday.

Griffith has missed the last four games with a concussion, but will return to the Panthers’ lineup on Friday. Griffith will skate on the top line with Vincent Trocheck and Jaromir Jagr and comes in with five assists in 23 games this season.

Griffith is out indefinitely with a concussion.

Griffith suffered a concussion on a hit from Nikolaj Ehlers on Wednesday and will miss an extended period of time. Head coach Tom Rowe said that Griffith is out for "god knows how long," so don't expect to see him anytime soon. With Griffith out, the Panthers recalled Jared McCann from Springfield (AHL).

The Florida Panthers have claimed Seth Griffith off of waivers from the Maple Leafs.

Griffith, 23, failed to record a point in three games with the Maple Leafs after being claimed from Boston, but now he heads to Florida where he’ll likely be given a bigger opportunity. Griffith had 77 points (24G / 53A) in 57 games with Providence (AHL) last season.

The Maple Leafs have claimed Seth Griffith off of waivers from the Bruins.

Griffith, 23, was a fifth round pick (131st overall) in 2012 and developed into a high-end AHLer scorer, but never found his way with Boston. Griffith is familiar with Maple Leafs’ assistant GM Mark Hunter from his time with the London Knights. Griffith had 77 points (24G / 53A) in 57 games with Providence (AHL) last season and has a chance to crack the Maple Leafs’ bottom-6 following this claim.

The Bruins have sent Seth Griffith back to Providence (AHL).

Griffith had just two shots on goal while averaging 8:13 TOI in two games during his call-up. The 23-year-old returns to Providence, where he is tied for second in the AHL in scoring with 67 points (22G / 45A) in 51 games. His return to the AHL means that Jimmy Hayes will get back into the lineup on Tuesday.

Seth Griffith
The Bruins have recalled Seth Griffith from Providence (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Griffith, 23, has 11 points (6G / 5A) in 32 career NHL games with the Bruins. Griffith leads Providence in scoring with 67 points (22G / 45A). He has one point in two games with the Bruins this season.

Griffith will miss 3-4 weeks with an MCL sprain.

Griffith sprained his left knee in the Bruins preseason opener. Griffith had 10 points (6G / 4A) in 30 games with the Bruins last season and was poised to battle for a roster spot in training camp. This injury will likely force Griffith to start in the AHL, where he had 31 points (12G / 19A) in 39 games a season ago.
