Karlsson (head) will be back in the Sharks lineup on Thursday.

Karlsson missed Tuesday's game in Detroit with a head injury that he suffered after taking a shot to the head vs. the Flyers last Saturday. Karlsson needed a few stitches but escaped a more serious injury and will replace Antti Suomela in the lineup on Thursday.

Karlsson missed Thursday’s practice and his status for Game 1 is unclear. Michael Haley skated on the fourth line in practice, but isn’t expected to play, so he Karlsson will likely skate there in Game 1. Karlsson had no points, four shots and a mins-2 rating in seven games during round one.

Karlsson (lower-body) will be back in the Sharks lineup on Wednesday.

Karlsson has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury, but will be back in tonight in Edmonton. Karlsson has had a quiet season, picking up just 17 points (8G / 9A) in 60 games. He will return on the fourth line with Eric Fehr and Marcus Sorensen.

Karlsson has been out for the last four games with an upper-body injury but it looks like he will replace Kevin Labanc in the lineup tonight. Karlsson, who is expected to skate on the fourth line, has just six points (3G / 3A) in 18 games this season.

Karlsson has missed the last eight games with a lower-body injury, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Rangers. Karlsson will replace Logan Couture, who is out with a face injury. Karlsson will skate on the second line with Patrick Marleau and Mikkel Boedker.

Karlsson was hurt in Saturday’s game in Tampa Bay, but X-rays on his ankle came back negative. It looks like he avoided a serious injury, but he still isn’t expected to be in the lineup on Tuesday. If Karlsson can’t play, expect Michael Haley to re-enter the lineup.

The Sharks recalled Melker Karlsson from San Jose (AHL) on Monday.

Karlsson missed the start of the season with a lower-body injury, but has recorded two assists in four games since returning from his injury. Karlsson, who was the Sharks’ rookie of the year last season, skated with Tommy Wingels and Matt Nieto on the third line in Monday’s practice, so look for him to make his season debut on Tuesday.
