Murray allowed one goal on 22 shots in the Penguins win in Ottawa on Thursday. Murray has won three of hi last four and 11 of his first 17 despite posting below average numbers (2.85 GAA / .906 SV%). The first time the Penguins and Blackhawks played this season, Murray came in in relief and allowed six goals on 31 shots in a 10-1 loss.

Murray allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Penguins overtime win over the Sabres on Tuesday. Murray has gone 3-2-0 with a 2.84 GAA and .903 SV% in five November starts, but still isn’t putting up the numbers many expected at the start of the year. Murray enters Ottawa at 4-4-0 with a 3.72 GAA and .876 SV% on the road this season.

The 23-year-old has gone 2-2-0 with a 2.54 GAA and .912 SV% in his first four November starts—but he comes into Tuesday with a 5-0-1 record and 1.82 GAA and .943 SV% on home-ice this season.

Murray stopped 24 of 25 shots in the Penguins win over the Coyotes on Tuesday. Murray has lost three of his last five starts while posting a 3.07 GAA and .893 SV%. It has been a sluggish start to the season for Murray, but he has no competition for starts so expect the Penguins to continue to ride him.

Murray was yanked after allowing four goals on nine shots in the Penguins’ blowout loss in Winnipeg on Sunday. October was a mixed bag of results for Murray, who finished the month with a 3.05 GAA and .903 SV% in 11 games. He started vs. the Oilers last Tuesday and stopped 29 of 30 shots in the 2-1 OT win.
