Dorsett will undergo neck surgery and is out indefinitely.
Dorsett will undergo cervical disc surgery in his neck and will miss a significant amount of time. Dorsett is expected to make a full recovery and return to game action, but there’s no timetable for his return at this point.
Dorsett (undisclosed) will not play on Saturday.
Dorsett was injured in Saturday’s game vs. the Coyotes and he will not play tonight vs. the Blackhawks. With Dorsett out, Jayson Megna will get back into the Concuss lineup after missing time with an injury.
Dorsett (shoulder) will return to the Canucks’ lineup on Wednesday.
Dorsett has missed the last four games with a shoulder injury, but will be back in the lineup tonight in Montreal. Dorsett has just one assist an seven PIMS in five games this season. Expect him to take Jack Skille’s spot in the lineup.

Dorsett left the game after colliding knee-on-knee with Ryan Kesler. Kesler will not face supplementary discipline for the hit and Dorsett’s status for Friday’s game remains uncertain.

Dorsett played just 7:42 (AVG 10:17 TOI) last night so he must have suffered some type of injury in the loss to the Kings. With Dorsett listed as doubtful, the Canucks have recalled Brandon DeFazio.

Dorsett, 27, had four goals and four assists (eight points) with 128 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Rangers this past season. He is a go-hard player who gives it his all on every shift. New Canucks' head coach Willie Desjardins was Dorsett's head coach with the Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL) from 2004-2007. Dorsett has 64 points in 61 games and a 16 playoff points in 17 games en route to a WHL Championship in 2006-07. Desjardins brings in a player he is familiar with to fill an important fourth line role.
A decision will be made Tuesday if Dorsett (leg) will play on Thursday.
Dorsett has been sidelined since January 3 with a broken fibula. The gritty forward has three goals, two assists and 103 PIMs in 37 games this year.
