Bobby Ryan News

Ryan (upper-body) will miss the rest of the 2021 season.

Ryan signed a one-year deal with the Red Wings and was likely going to be moved at the trade deadline if he were healthy. He had a great start to the season, scoring four goals with one assist in the first five games but had just nine points (3G / 6A) in his last 28.

Ryan is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Ryan left Sunday's win over the Blue Jackets with an upper-body injury after logging just 4:11 TOI. Head coach Jeff Blashill called him day-to-day and does not expect the veteran winger to miss more than a week. With Ryan out, Givani Smith was promoted to the active roster.

Ryan (undisclosed) is questionable for Tuesday's game vs. Carolina.

There is no word on what is ailing Ryan but he was not on the ice for Monday's practice and is listed as questionable for Tuesday's rematch with the Hurricanes. If he plays, Ryan comes in without a goal in six games, recording just one assist over that time.

Ryan (undisclosed) returned to practice in a non-contact jersey on Wednesday.

The Red Wings are signing Bobby Ryan to a one-year deal worth $1.0M.

Ryan was bought out after a tough season in Ottawa, scoring just five goals with three assists (eight points) in just 24 games. The Red Wings were looking to add a right-shot forward and Ryan at one-year, $1.0M is a low-risk investment and gives Ryan a chance to play in the top-6 and prove he's still got some game left. Ryan could be a player the Red Wings look to flip at the deadline as well.

The Senators have bought out the final two years of Bobby Ryan's contract.

Ryan had two-years left on a seven-year deal that carried a $7.25M AAV cap-hit. The buyout will cost Ottawa just over $3.5M over the next two seasons and $1.83M in 2023 and 2024. Ryan had just five goals with three assists (eight points) in 24 games this past season but there is a good chance he will be brought in on a low-cost, incentive driven contract, similar to what Corey Perry got from the Dallas Stars.

Ryan (personal) will not play Monday; expected to be back in the lineup on Tuesday.

Ryan has not played since November 16th but skated on the top line in Monday's morning skate. Despite that, he'll sit out one more game and is expected to be back in the lineup tomorrow vs. the Predators. With J.G. Pageau, Vladislav Namestnikov and Tyler Ennis all traded on Monday, the Senators lineup will be extremely thin in Columbus.

Ryan will be away from the Senators while taking part in the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program.

The Senators and the NHLPA did not elaborate any further, so Ryan is out indefinitely until we hear otherwise. It has been a tough season for Ryan, who has had to deal with being regularly scratched but clearly there are things that are more important than hockey.

Ryan will be back in the Senators lineup on Monday.

Ryan served as a healthy scratch for the last two games but will play in New York. Ryan's return to the lineup was necessitated by injuries to Logan Brown and Scott Sabourin on Saturday night. He has one goal on 15 shots (6.7 SH%) and three assists in 10 games this season.
