Signing
The Canucks have signed Sam Gagner to a three-year contract worth $9.45M ($3.15M AAV).
Gagner, 27, resurrected his NHL career one a one-year deal in Columbus, scoring 18 goals with 32 assists (50 points) in 81 games. He did extensive damage on the power-play, scoring eight goals and 10 assists with the man-advantage. He will bring a much-needed scorer’s touch to the Canucks bottom-6.

Gagner had no points and just one shot on goal while averaging 11:03 TOI in his first two games in a Blue Jackets jersey, but tonight he will come out of the lineup as Lukas Sedlak will make his NHL debut.

The Blue Jackets signed Sam Gagner to a one-year deal worth $650K.
Gagner, 27, split the 2015-16 season between the NHL and AHL. He finished the year with 16 points (8G / 8A) in 53 games with the Flyers and six points (1G / 5A) in nine games with Lehigh Valley. The former sixth overall pick has not been able to break his career-high of 49 points he set in his rookie season. Gagner will battle for a roster spot in training camp this fall.

The Flyers have recalled Sam Gagner from Lehigh Valley (AHL); expected to play on Thursday.
Gagner had six points (1G / 5A) in nine games with Lehigh Valley but has been recalled to play with Sean Couturier out of the lineup with a lower-body injury. Gagner has five points (2G / 3A) in 18 games this season.

The Flyers have placed Sam Gagner on waivers.
Gagner has been out since November 23rd with a concussion and is now on waivers. If Gagner goes unclaimed, he will likely head to the AHL. The 2007 sixth overall pick’s NHL career could be in danger of coming to an end.

Gagner will miss his seventh consecutive game on Tuesday and was placed on IR yesterday, but did skate this morning. He is day-to-day with no timetable for a return.

Gagner hit his face off of the ice after being hit by Brad Malone and left the game and did not come back. Gagner played just 1:54 before retiring to the dressing room. If he is unavailable for Wednesday’s game, expect Vinny Lecavalier to play.

Gagner was a healthy scratch on Thursday vs. the Flames, but will replace Vincent Lecavalier in the lineup tonight in Winnipeg. Gagner, who will centre the third line, has two goals and three assists in 10 games in his first season with the Flyers.
