Bryan Little News
Center, Right Wing
The Jets have signed Bryan Little to a six-year extension worth $31.746M ($5.291M AAV).
Little was entering the final year of a five-year deal with a $4.7M AAV, so the 29-year-old centre gets a bit of a raise starting in 2018-19. Little has been a strong playmaker for the Jets, but has had some concerns over the years, missing 60 games over the last three seasons. If he can stay on the ice, Little has 25-goal, 40-assist upside.
Little missed the morning skate but will play on Monday.
Little was held off of the ice during the Jets’ morning skate, but head coach Paul Maurice said Little is “fine” and will play tonight. Little will centre the Jets’ top line with Blake Wheeler and Mathieu Perreault on his wings.
Little (lower-body) will return to the Jets lineup on Tuesday.
Little has been sidelined since the season opener, but will get back into the lineup tonight vs. the Devils. Little will centre the Jets’ second line with Blake Wheeler and Drew Stafford on his wings. He is worth a pickup if he made it to waivers in standard leagues.
Little (lower-body) says he is ready to return to the lineup on Tuesday.
Little has been out since the season opener, missing the last 23 games with a lower-body injury. On Monday, Little skated on a line with with Blake Wheeler and Drew Stafford and is also expected to skate on the second power-play unit. Little is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury.
Little suffered the injury in the first period of the Jets' season opener on Thursday and will be out long-term. This is a tough break for the Jets' second line centre, who has missed 37 games over the last two years and finished last season on IR. Alex Burmistrov is expected to draw into the lineup for Little after serving as a healthy scratch yesterday. This will also elevate Mathieu Perreault to the second line.
Little left Thursday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return.
Little played just 2:48 in the first period before exiting the game with a lower-body injury. Little missed 25 games last year and a total of 37 games over the previous two seasons, so injuries are nothing new for the 28-year-old centre. After the game head coach Paul Maurice did not have an update on Little’s condition, so consider him day-to-day until more information is available.
Little will miss the rest of the regular season with a compression fracture of the T6 vertebrae.
Little is expected to be out for eight weeks after suffering a vertebrae fracture. With just over six weeks left in the regular season, Little will be shut down but is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the 2016-17 season.
Little (head) could play Tuesday; will depend on how he feels following the morning skate.
Little missed Saturday’s game in Florida, but could play Tuesday vs. the Stars. He is expected to take part in the morning skate and will be evaluated when it’s over. If he feels good enough to play, he will be in the lineup.

Little (undisclosed) did not take part in the morning skate; listed as a game-time decision.
Little missed the morning skate and has been listed as a game-time decision tonight. The Jets don’t get underway until 8 p.m. so there could be an update on his status at 6 p.m. or not until warmups at 7:30 p.m. He is a risky option as a daily option.
Little played in Round 1 with dislocated ribs.
Little battled through rib dislocation in round 1 vs. Anaheim. Little said he wasn’t 100% healthy, but it was nothing “major to deal with.” Little had two goals and one assist in four playoff games.
Little is not on the ice for warmups; not expected to play.
Little has just one assist in five games since returning to the lineup on March 31st and will sit out because he could be little banged up still. With the Jets securely into the playoffs, they have the luxury to sit players like Little.
Little (upper-body) is not expected to play on Thursday.
Little will miss 10th consecutive game tonight but skated late in the morning skate with a no-contact jersey. There is a chance that Little can return to the lineup on Sunday vs. the Blackhawks.
