Injury
Richardson suffered a broken tibia and fibula on Thursday; out indefinitely.
Richardson was injured in a collision with Canucks’ defenseman Nikita Tryamkin in Thursday’s win over Vancouver. Richardson had to be stretchered off of the ice and underwent surgery to repair the broken bones on Friday. The Coyotes have not ruled out a possible return to the lineup this season, but expect Dylan Strome to step back into the lineup with Richardson out.

Richardson will miss his second straight game with a lower-body injury that he suffered in Friday’s game in Carolina. He was hit by a shot from teammate Chris Tanev. There was a chance he could of returned tonight, but he decided not to push it and will wait until after the All Star break.

He was believed to be a healthy scratch when he sat out the last two games, but head coach John Tortorella said today that Richardson is day-to-day. After a good start to the season, Richardson has not scored a goal since January 1, and has just one assist in that span of 20 games.
