Hours after clearing waivers, Toronto has acquired 23-year-old Finnish forward Aatu Raty from Vancouver. Raty was originally a second-round pick of the Islanders (2021) before being traded as a part of the Bo Horvat deal in 2023. He failed to make an impact in Vancouver, picking up just 27 points (12G / 15A) in 106 games. Raty will report to the Toronto Marlies (AHL).
Arshdeep Bains will draw into Vancouver's lineup on Tuesday, sending Raty to the press box as a healthy scratch. The 23-year-old Raty is averaging 10:10 time-on-ice and has one goal in four games this season.
