Adam McQuaid News

Adam McQuaid, out the last three games because of a neck injury, is practicing.

Good sign for the team as a healthy McQuaid add to their depth on the blue line. Considering McQuaid plays third pairing minutes with no PP time, don't expect any fantasy hockey impact.

Adam McQuaid didn’t practice today. Yesterday morning, Julien said McQuaid was a game-time decision for last night’s match. But McQuaid didn’t participate in warmups, and appears to be out for at least tomorrow’s game. Julien didn’t specify the nature of McQuaid’s symptoms.

Considering McQuaid plays third pairing minutes with no PP time, don't expect any fantasy hockey impact.

McQuaid practicing is a solid indication he is healthy and possibly does not have a concussion. If he can play, look for him to take Matt Bartkowski out of the lineup on the bottom pairing.

CHICAGO–Defenseman Adam McQuaid, who crashed head first into the RBC Center end boards on Wednesday night, did not practice with the Bruins today and, though he’s listed as day-to-day, it doesn’t look like he’ll be playing tomorrow night against the Blackhawks.

Look for Matt Barkowski to take his lineup spot. Considering McQuaid plays third pairing minutes with no PP time, don't expect any fantasy hockey impact.

Claude Julien said McQuaid, who banged his head into the boards last night, is still being evaluated. Julien did not say if McQuaid has been diagnosed with a concussion.

McQuaid travelling with the team could mean he stays in the lineup. Look for Matt Bartkowski to take his place in the lineup should he remain sidelined with the dreaded C word.

As for the game, we’ll assume that Adam McQuaid will play. McQuaid missed yesterday’s practice and part of Tuesday’s session because of a virus. If McQuaid can’t dress, Matt Bartkowski would be in the lineup.

McQuaid holds limited value as a bottom-pairing defender. Don't expect much except PIM and possibly a decent +/- while chipping in around 15 points.

Coach Claude Julien said that Adam McQuaid suffered a sprained neck when he crashed into the end boards in the first period at the Wells Fargo Center in last night’s Game 2 win. Julien said that the big defenseman, who traveled home with the team after getting checked out at Jefferson Hospital in Philly, is day-to-day.
