There were rumblings that Barkov could miss the rest of the 2016-17 season, but it seems like if he can avoid surgery he will return at some point this season. Barkov left Wednesday’s game against the Maple Leafs with an undisclosed injury and missed Thursday’s contest vs. the Canadiens. The Panthers have moved him to IR and head coach Tom Rowe said that Barkov is expected to miss 2-3 weeks.

Barkov was listed as a game-time decision for Saturday’s game, but did not come out for the pregame warmup. He has been out since October 22nd, but look for him to return tomorrow vs. the Lightning. Barkov has three goals and three assists in seven games.
Barkov, who returned to practice on Thursday, appears to have a chance to play on Saturday. The Panthers said he “could be” a game-time decision, so that basically means that he is a game-time decision. Monitor his status when pre-game warmups start at 6:30 pm ET.
Barkov has missed the last eight games with a broken hand but will return to practice tomorrow. Barkov is nearing a return to the lineup but there is no word how many practice days he will need before he can play.
The Panthers caught a break when the doctors announced that Barkov will not require surgery on his broken hand and could only miss two weeks.
