The Avalanche have reassigned Alex Newhook to Colorado (AHL).
The Avalanche are likely going to be without Nathan MacKinnon (COVID), Valeri Nichushkin (upper-body) and Gabriel Landeskog (suspension) on Saturday, so sending Newhook to the AHL opens up enough cap space to recall multiple forwards to fill the voids. Stefan Matteau and Dylan Sikura were recalled.
Line Change
Newhook is on the ice for warmups and is expected to draw back into the Avalanche lineup for Game 5.
Line Change
Newhook will make his NHL debut on Wednesday.
Newhook was the No.16 overall pick in 2019 and is set to make his NHL debut after just eight games at the AHL live. The 20year-old centre had 16 points (7G / 9A) in 12 games at Boston College and nine points (5G / 4A) in eight games with the Colorado Eagles (AHL).
With the No.16 Pick in the 2019 NHL Draft the Colorado Avalanche select Alex Newhook.
