Head coach Willie Desjardins did not have an update on Burrows upper-body injury after practice, but his absence this afternoon puts his status for Sunday’s game in doubt. With Burrows out, Linden Vey skated in the top-6 again.

Burrows was suspended for his hit on Alexei Emelin on October 30th, he had to sit the last three games but will be back in the lineup tonight in San Jose. He has two goals and four assists in 10 games. Along with Nick Bonino and Chris Higgins, the Canucks second line has been providing a lot of secondary scoring to start the year.

Burrows caught Emelin with a nasty elbow last night and it will cost him three games. He will miss the Canucks back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday as well as next Tuesday's game vs. Colorado. He is eligible to return on Thursday in San Jose. With Burrows out, Jannik Hansen moved up to the second line.

Ehrhoff is coming off of a long-term deal. He signs a short-term deal to get a shot at winning a Stanley Cup after spending the last three seasons in Buffalo. Ehrhoff had six goals and 27 assists (33 points) in 79 games last season. He is a good puck moving defenseman who will fill-in for losing Matt Niskanen in free-agency. After finishing minus-27 last year, expect a much better plus/minus in Pittsburgh next season.

Ehrhoff has to get 40 stitches on his ear after being hit by a puck on Sunday. He will be in the lineup tonight vs. the Red Wings and skate with Rasmus Ristolainen as his D-partner.

Ehrhoff took a puck to the ear on Sunday which required 40 stitches following the game. It was a pretty gruesome gash that Ehrhoff elected to share on Twitter, but depending on how well it has healed, he could be held out of tonight's game vs. the Red Wings. Mark Pysyk has been recalled and will play if Ehrhoff can't go.

Burrows only missed Sunday's game with a thumb injury. He will return tonight having scored five goals and four assists in his last six games. He will likely skate on a line with Daniel Sedin and Shawn Matthias.

The original diagnosis on Burrows' thumb injury is "not good" according to GM Mike GIllis. With just 10 games remaining on the Canucks schedule, there is a chance that Burrows could be done for the rest of the regular season. Burrows was featured on our first instalment of 'The Fantasy Minute' as someone who makes for a good pick-up, that obviously is not the case anymore.

Burrows is battling a sore foot after blocking a shot on Saturday, but head coach John Tortorella said that Burrows will battle through it and play vs. the Isles tonight. Burrows has been terrible this season. He is still searching for his first goal of the season and he has only five assist with a minus-14 rating in 34 games. He is played nearly 20 minutes a night alongside Henrik Sedin, but the four-time 20-plus goal scorer can't buy a goal right now.

Burrows suffered a sprained hand in the final game before the Olympic break, but he skated on the top line with Jordan Schroeder and Daniel Sedin at this afternoon's practice, so it looks like he could be in the lineup on Wednesday. Whether or not he is in the lineup or not, Burrows is still goalless while only recording five assists in 28 games this season. There are better fantasy options than this former 35-goal scorer.

Ehrhoff wants to play. Ted Nolan will decide if the defenseman is able to play.Ehrhoff, who missed the Sabres’ last game because of illness, will take part in the pregame skate this afternoon prior to the meeting with Colorado. Nolan will judge the defenseman’s fitness before deciding to use him.

If Ehrhoff can't go expect Jamie McBain to slide back onto the blueline.

In 17 games this season he has only recorded three assists with a minus-7 rating. While those are ugly numbers, it is worth noting that he has scored 130 goals with 111 assists over the last five season. In his last four full seasons he has scored at least 20 goals in each season and in 2009-10 he had a career-high 35. He will likely find himself skating on the top-line with Daniel and Henrik Sedin. At 33-years-old the twins are not what they once were, but they are still among the NHL’s best and playing with them should help Burrows resurrect his season.

Burrows has not played since December 1 because of a broken jaw but worth a pickup next week, because he will likely slide onto the first line next to the Sedin twins on Saturday. He has recorded just three assists in 17 games this season, but is a four-time 20 goal scorer and has a career-high of 35 goals (2009-10) so he should be considered a low-risk, high-reward mid-season addition.

Burrows has been skating lately, but will be held out of at least the next four games. The Canucks first game after the 16th is on Saturday, January 18th vs. the Flames - that should be considered Burrows' target date. He has not played since December 1 because of a broken jaw and is worth a pickup next week, because he will likely slide onto the first line next to the Sedin twins when he returns.

Burrows has been out since December 1 with a fractured jaw. Taking part in the morning skate suggests that he could return to the lineup tonight, but that seems unlikely. However it is a great sign that Burrows is near a return. He struggled before getting injured, he has just three assists and a minus-7 rating in 17 games.

Burrows fractured his jaw after being hit in the face with the puck on a Chris Tanev clearing attempt. Ryan Kesler is expected to move back up to play with the Sedin twins.

Burrows already missed more than three weeks of the season after fracturing his right foot in the season opener Oct. 3 against San Jose when he blocked a Patrick Marleau shot. Burrows, of course, had been playing with the Sedins, so replacing him on that top line will not be an easy choice for coach John Tortorella. Expect it to either be Ryan Kesler or Jannik Hansen.

Head coach John Tortorella split up the twins and Ryan Kesler at practice this morning and moved Burrows up to the top line. This is likely an effort to get Burrows going offensively - he has three assists in nine games. Kesler was also a minus-4 in the last three games so Torts is shaking thing up. This should help Burrows going forward.

Ehrhoff missed Friday's contest vs. the Ducks after being banged up on Thursday. Ehrhoff had a career high 50 points (14G / 36A) in 2010-11 and has been a consistent 30-plus point producer throughout his career. However in 2013-14 on a weak Sabres squad his value has become limited.
