The Islanders have re-signed Anders Lee to a seven-year deal worth $49.0M ($7.0M AAV).

Lee will be in the Islanders lineup on Monday.
Lee was forced to leave Saturday’s game in Detroit following a huge hit by Niklas Kronwall. Lee ended up returning to the game but it’s good to know that there were no lingering effects post-game. Lee will be in the lineup vs. the Penguins and has five goals and two assists in his last eight games.

Lee will be back on the Islanders top line on Friday.

Lee was held out of Tuesday’s game vs. Columbus, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Canadiens. Lee will take his spot next to John Tavares back and comes into play with 17 goals, which is second on the team behind only Tavares.

Lee was hit by a Johnny Boychuk slap shot in Thursday’s win over the Rangers. This is a terrible injury for the Islanders, who are already without key members in Jaroslav Halak and Travis Hamonic.

The Islanders recalled Anders Lee from Bridgeport (AHL)
Lee, 24, has three goals and two assists in five games with Bridgeport so far this season. He was close to making the Islanders out of camp, but it didn't take him long to get recalled. He had 14 points (9G / 5A) in 22 games with the Isles last season. There is a good chance he will centre the Islanders second line with Brock Nelson and either Ryan Strome or Nikolai Kulemin on his wing tonight.

Lee made his NHL debut during the 2012-13 season where he had one goal and one assist in two games. The Islanders sixth round pick in 2009 has tallied 41 points (22G / 19A) in 54 games with Bridgeport this year. He should get a chance to play top-9 minutes with John Tavares and Frans Nielsen on IR.
