The Avalanche have signed Andrej Meszaros to a professional tryout (PTO).
Meszaros, 29, had 14 points (7G / 7A) in 60 games with the Sabres last season. The former first-round pick has totalled 238 points (63G / 175A) in 645 games in his career with the Senators, Lightning, Flyers, Bruins and Sabres.
Meszaros (hand) will not play on Monday.
Meszaros is out with a hand injury and Chad Ruhwedel is expected tone recalled and fill-in for him. Meszaros is day-to-day.
The Sabres have signed Andrej Meszaros to a one-year, $4.125 million deal.
Meszaros had seven goals and 15 assists (22 points) in 52 games with the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins last season. Meszaros should slide in and replace some of the offence the Sabres are losing with the departure of Christian Ehrhoff.

Meszaros will not play on Thursday.
Meszaros was acquired from the Flyers for a third-round pick on Wednesday, but his Bruins' debut will have to wait. The Bruins will stick with the six defensemen that they used on Tuesday.

Flyers head coach Craig Berube wasn't please with how Gustafsson played on Saturday, so he takes a seat tomorrow while Meszaros re-enters the lineup. He hasn't played since October 11th, and has no points in five games.

Meszaros played in the first four games of the season but has sat out Philadelphia's last 21 games with a shoulder injury. He had seven goals and 18 assists in 62 games last season. He is one of Philly's best offensive defenceman so he could see a lot of power-play time.

Meszaros has only appeared in four games this season but looks like he is nearing a return to the lineup. He scored 25 points in 62 games last season and is a fairly consistent fantasy option year-to-year so he would be a good depth defenceman to add to your team when he returns to the Flyers lineup.
