Andrew Desjardins News

Desjardins (lower-body) is expected to return this weekend.

Desjardins has not appeared in a game this season, but is expected to return in one of the Blackhawks’ back-to-back games this weekend. Desjardins will likely take Vince Hinostroza or Dennis Rasmussen’s spot in the lineup.

The Blackhawks have acquired Andrew Desjardins from the Sharks for Ben Smith.

Desjardins, 27, switches places with Ben Smith and should slot right in on the Blackhawks fourth line. He has just eight points (5G / 3A) in 56 games, so moving to Chicago is not going to bump up his fantasy value.

The Panthers have acquired Dany Heatley and a 2015 3rd round pick from Anaheim for Tomas Fleischmann.

Heatley, 34, has seen his career hit rock-bottom. He scored 50 goals in back-to-back years in 05/06 and 06/07 but will be assigned to San Antonio after being felt from Anaheim. He had just two goals and five assists in 25 games with Norfolk.

Dany Heatley cleared waivers and has been sent to Norfolk (AHL).

Heatley will head to the AHL for the first time in his career. He failed to record a point in six games with the Ducks. Heatley will report and try to gain the attention of other teams so that the Ducks will be able to trade him.

The Ducks have placed Dany Heatley on waivers.

Injury and poor play have limited Heatley to just six games with the Ducks this season. He has no points and a minus-3 rating. The former 50-goal scorer has a rather inexpensive contract and it will be interesting to see if another team takes a chance on him.

Heatley will serve as a healthy scratch on Thursday.

Since being recalled from his conditioning stint, Heatley has yet to get into the lineup. He will serve as a healthy scratch for a second straight game. With Kyle Palmieri out, there was a roster spot open, but it will be Emerson Etem who fills that.

Heatley will not play on Tuesday.

Despite being recalled from his conditioning stint on Monday, Heatley will not return to the lineup on Tuesday. He skated again this morning and is healthy, but the Ducks are on a seven-game winning streak, so they likely don’t want to tinker with a winning lineup.

The Ducks have recalled Dany Heatley from his Long-Term Injury Conditioning Loan with Norfolk (AHL).

Heatley played two games with Norfolk, he failed to record a point and had a minus-3 rating. Heatly was skating on as the fourth forward on the Ducks third line this morning, so there is no guarantee that he will be in the lineup on Tuesday.

The Ducks have sent Dany Heatley (groin) to Norfolk (AHL) on a conditioning stint.

Heatley continues to work his way back from a groin injury he had a surgical procedure done on in November. He will play with Norfolk over the weekend and likely return to the Ducks next week. This is the first time that Heatley has ever been in the AHL.

Heatley underwent a surgical procedure on his groin in November, doing well now, will go on Thursday’s trip to Edmonton.

The Ducks were apparently trying to keep this quiet but Head coach Bruce Boudreau let it slip today. He also praised Heatley for how good he has looked in practice recently. He will travel to Edmonton and Winnipeg, but there is no word on if he will play.

Heatley bumped to the second line on Thursday.

Heatley made his Ducks debut on Tuesday and played just 13:26 with one shot on goal. In practice this morning he skated with Ryan Kesler and Devante-Smith Pelly while Matt Beleskey skated with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf. It still is not a bad line, but his production would likely be higher on the top-line.

As expected, Heatley (groin) will make his Anaheim Ducks debut tonight.

Heatley will skate on the Ducks top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. The former 50-goal scorer is worth a speculative add in standard leagues while he is playing on that line.

Heatley (groin) expected to make his Ducks' debut on Tuesday.

Heatley had been working his way back from a preseason groin injury and skated on the Ducks' top-line this morning, so expect him to play tonight vs. the Blackhawks. The former 50-goal scorer has been a shadow of his former self in recent years, but if anyone can rejuvenate his career, it is Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.

Dany Heatley
Heatley (groin) could be back in the Ducks lineup on Tuesday.

Heatley has not played yet this season, but he is on the ice for the Ducks' morning skate and is taking line rushes with Corey Perry (Ryan Getzlaf taking the morning off) which would suggest that he will make his Ducks' debut tonight on the top-line. His scoring has fallen off in recent years, but play with Perry and Getzlaf is a good way to ignite your offence.

Heatley (groin) skated in Anaheim on Sunday.

The Ducks are optimistic that Heatley will be returning to the lineup for Anaheim’s October 26 contest at Honda Center against the San Jose Sharks. Heatley suffered a groin injury in a preseason game vs. Los Angeles on September 28.
