The Bruins have acquired Andrew Peeke from the Blue Jackets for Jakub Zboril and a 2027 third-round pick.

After playing 162 combined games with the Columbus Blue Jackets over the last two seasons, Peeke has been limited to only 23 in the 2023-24 campaign. Peeke has two years remaining on his contract with a $2.75 million AAV.

Peeke has been a healthy scratch for the Blue Jackets' previous two games but with Columbus switching to 11F/7D on Tuesday will draw back into the lineup for Kirill Marchenko. The 25-year-old defensive defenseman has yet to score through 21 games played this season but has six assists, six PIMs and a -5 plus/minus.

Peeke last appeared for the Blue Jackets on January 30th but will make his first appearance in nearly a month as he replaces Adam Boqvist on Columbus' blue line Thursday. The 25-year-old has yet to score this season but has six assists, 21 SOG and a -4 plus/minus in the 20 games that he has dressed.

Peeke will play his second game of the season for the Blue Jackets as David Jiricek is expected to be a healthy scratch. The 25-year-old Peeke was a regular in the Blue Jackets lineup the last two seasons, playing 162 games and tallying 28 points (8G / 20A). He skated next to Ivan Provorov at practice on the Blue Jackets' second defensive pairing.
