Bibeau was supposed to get a start before the Christmas break, but it never happened, but Mike Babcock will stick to his guns tonight and start Bibeau tonight in Tampa Bay. Bibeau has gone 7-7-1 with a 2.46 GAA and .908 SV% in 16 starts with the Marlies this season.

Bibeau allowed two goals on 28 shots in the Maple Leafs’ loss to the Avalanche in his only NHL start of the season. During his time with the Marlies, the 22-year-old netminder has gone 7-6-1 with a 2.48 GAA and .910 SV% and could make for a decent spot-start option vs. the Coyotes. Arizona comes in as losers of their last three games.

The Maple Leafs have recalled Antoine Bibeau from Toronto (AHL).

Bibeau, 21, has gone 6-3-0 with a 3.64 GAA and .869 SV% in 10 games with the Marlies this season. With James Reimer day-to-day with an injury and Jonathan Bernier in the minors on a conditioning stint, Bibeau has been recalled to serve as Garret Sparks backup for at least Saturday’s game.

The Maple Leafs have recalled Antoine Bibeau from Toronto (AHL) on an emergency basis.

This morning the Maple Leafs announced that Jonathan Bernier would start and James Reimer appeared to be fine in the morning skate, so something is up. Bibeau is likely here to serve as Bernier’s backup, but nothing is confirmed at this point. Bibeau is 8-7-5 with a 2.58 GAA and .917 SV% with the Marlies.
