Anton Stralman News

Just from talking to Stralman Saturday, I don't think he will play tmrw vs. NYI. Think Sat in MTL more realistic option. #NYR

It was originally believed that Stralman would replace Jeff Woywitka but the latter has been relatively serviceable. If you own Stralman, consider waiting for a few more games before inserting him into your lineup.

Barring a sudden injury, Anton Stralman won't play vs Caroilina. Needs more understanding of system

As we previously explained, Stralman will not play for at least more one game as he acclimates to a completely new system. Once inserted look for him on the second PP unit.

Anton Stralman skated on his own today at #MSG Practice facility. Will be on ice for team's practice tomorrow.

Stralman probably gets into a game at some point next week after practicing and watching the team from the press box. He may add some value to the team's power play.

After spending recent wks back home in his native Sweden, Anton Stralman is now in NY. Probably won't play until next wknd, Wed at earliest

Barring any injury, Stralman should play on the bottom pairing and get some power play time. Look for some growing pains as he adapts to coach John Tortorella and his unique playing system.

“I think with signing that contract he’s probably got some security in his life,” Arniel said. “He looks like a guy that is just going out there, playing his game and having fun. This time last year, he struggled out of the gate. But hopefully he’s feeling confident.”

Sounds like Tyutin is poised for a career year after playing inconsistently last season. The 28-year-old scored seven goals and 27 points last season -- which was a decrease from his previous two seasons. As the team's number two defender, look for him to benefit greatly from the additions of Jeff Carter and James Wisniewski.

For others, such as tryouts Anton Stralman and Steve Bernier, this might be their final opportunity to show they are worth keeping around.

Stralman hasn't stood out during his tryout with the team and could get cut. As an unsigned player he holds very limited fantasy hockey value.
