Ashton Sautner has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension ($775,000) with Winnipeg.

Sautner had two goals, 10 assists, 50 PIMs and a +3 plus/minus through 68 games with Manitoba (AHL) and has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension worth $775,000. The 29-year-old defenseman has played in 23 career NHL games with three assists and a +2 rating across three seasons in Vancouver. He last played in the NHL in 2019-2020.

Sautner spent the first seven years of his career with the Canucks' organization but moves east to join the Jets, where he'll likely open the year in Manitoba (AHL). The 28-year-old defenseman had 13 points (3G / 10A) in 41 games a season ago.

The Canucks have recalled Ashton Sautner from Utica (AHL).

Sautner split his 2018-19 campaign between the AHL and NHL. The 25-year-old defenseman had one assist in 17 NHL games and eight points (3G / 5A) in 31 games with Utica. He will likely serve as an extra defenseman as the Canucks get prepared to head out east on a road trip.
