Beau Bennett News

The Blues have sent Beau Bennett to Chicago (AHL).

Bennett got into the Blues lineup on Monday and got to play with Jaden Schwartz and Brayden Schenn, but only recorded just one shot in 12:19 TOI. With Bennett now in the AHL, look for Magnus Paajarvi to draw back in on Thursday.

The Blues have signed Beau Bennett to a one-year deal worth $650K.

Bennett, 25, was the No.20 overall pick in 2010 but has yet to produce like a first rounder, largely thanks to injury issues. Bennett had 19 points (8G / 11A) in 65 games with the Devils last year and has just 64 points (24G / 40A) in 194 career NHL games. Bennett will likely serve as a bottom-6 forward in St. Louis.

The Devils have placed Beau Bennett (lower-body) on IR.

Bennett has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury and was moved to IR this morning so the Devils could claim Stefan Noesen off of waivers from Anaheim. There’s no timeline for Bennett’s return, so consider him as day-to-day.

Bennett (leg) has been cleared to play on Tuesday.

Bennett has missed the last three games with a leg laceration, but he is set to return on Tuesday. With Pavel Zacha (face) out, Bennett will likely slide onto the the third line. Bennett enters play with seven points (1G / 6A) in 20 games this season.

Bennett skating with the Devils’ top line in preseason.

The Devils will face the Islanders in a preseason game on Wednesday and Bennett will skate on the top line with Taylor Hall and Adam Henrique. Many expected Kyle Palmieri to skate there, but he is currently with Mike Cammalleri and Travis Zajac—a sign that Bennett will be given a true chance on the top line.

The Devils have inked Beau Bennett to a one-year contract worth $725K.

Bennett’s rights were acquired from the Penguins at the NHL draft and the Devils were successful in signing him to a one-year, “show me” contract. Bennett is a former first round pick, who has had a terrible time trying to stay healthy during his NHL career. He missed 49 games last year and 33 the year prior, but has shown flashes of a potential top-6 forward when he has managed to be on the ice.
