The Stars have signed Blake Comeau to a three-year deal worth $7.2M ($2.4M AAV).
Comeau is a big winger (6-foot-1, 202 lbs.) who is a strong penalty-killer that can chip in offensively. Comeau spent the last three seasons with the Avalanche, where he averaged 11 goals and 19 assists (30 points) per season.
Comeau (upper-body) will return to the lineup Friday in Winnipeg.
Comeau missed the last two games with an upper-body injury. Nail Yakupov is expected to draw out of the lineup in favour of Comeau. Comeau’s enjoyed a nice year in Colorado, collecting 22 points (10G / 12A) in 53 games but has just one goal in his last seven contests.

Comeau was on the ice for the Penguins morning skate and said after the session that he was “hopeful” that he will return to the lineup tonight. It sounds like he will play, but we will not know for sure until pre-game warmups. He skated with Evgeni Malkin and Patric Hornqvist this morning.

Comeau (upper-body) will have X-rays this week; exact timeline will be determined after.
Comeau has been out since December 22nd and the only update that has been available is that he would miss “several weeks”. He has been sidelined for nearly one month already, so the X-rays should provide a more detailed timeline for his return.

The original expectation was that Comeau’s injury was relatively serious and coach Johnston’s comments confirmed that. He will likely miss at least two weeks with an upper-body injury. The injury woes continue for the Penguins.

The Penguins have placed Blake Comeau (undisclosed) on injured reserve.
Comeau suffered an undisclosed injury in Monday’s game and he will not play on Tuesday. There is no word on the nature or severity of Comeau’s injury, but the early belief is that it is something that will keep him sidelined for an extended period of time. His immediate placement on IR is also a bad sign.

Blue Jackets' head coach Todd Richards did not no the nature or severity of Comeau's injury after practice. The injury occurred when he missed check and went hard into boards. He had been pencilled into tonight's lineup, but it appears that he will not play now.
