Holtby will start Sunday afternoon vs. the Flyers.

Holtby allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Capitals overtime loss in New Jersey on Thursday. With three sets of back-to-backs in a row, Holtby has not played a lot recently but he will be back in against Philadelphia and will try to snap a brief two-game losing skid. Holtby has been excellent at home this season, going 15-5-0 with a 2.13 GAA and .932 SV% in 20 games.

Philipp Grubauer gave him the night off on Tuesday, but Holtby will be back in tonight vs. the Hurricanes—he has won four straight while posting a 2.87 GAA and .910 SV%. One of those wins came against the Hurricanes, who he’ll face again tonight—he allowed four goals on 38 shots in the 5-4 OT victory.

Tonight he will face the Devils team for the second time this season—he turned away 21 of 23 shots in a 5-2 win in the first meeting.

Holtby allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Capitals loss in Vegas last Saturday. Philipp Grubauer started the first game back from the break so Holtby will start the second game of their back-to-back tonight vs. the Bruins. Saturday’s loss to the Golden Knights snapped a four-game winning streak for Holtby, who enters play on Thursday 2-0-0 with a 2.51 GAA and .929 SV% in two starts vs. the Bruins this season.
