Coach Bruce Boudreau said the Capitals will be without veteran right wing Mike Knuble on Saturday for Game 5, a potential series-clinching game, of this Eastern Conference quarterfinal against the Rangers.
Knuble was on the ice in full pads before the Caps’ optional morning skate Thursday along with injured defenseman Dennis Wideman. Both coach Bruce Boudreau and Knuble termed the 38-year-old “day-to-day.”
