Bryan Allen News

The Canadiens have placed Bryan Allen on waivers.

Allen has appeared in just five games with the Canadiens after being acquired from the Ducks. He missed an extended period of time with an illness, but has been a healthy scratch in the last five games.

Allen (flu) not expected to play on Tuesday.

Allen, who missed Monday’s practice with the flu, is not on the ice for the morning skate, so don’t expect him to be in the lineup tonight. Nathan Beaulieu will enter the lineup and skate with Tom Gilbert. Allen is day-to-day.

Allen will make his Canadiens debut on Saturday.

Allen was acquired for Rene Bourque on Thursday and will be in the lineup tonight vs. the Bruins. Allen does not provide much in the way of offence, but he is a reliable blue liner who brings physicality and size to the Habs’ back-end. Allen is in the final year of a three-year deal.

Allen (lower-body) expects to make his season debut on Friday.

Allen was recently recalled from Norfolk (AHL) after spending the weekend with them on a conditioning stint. The 34-year-old defenseman is expected to replace Josh Manson on the Ducks blue line. He had 10 assists in 68 games in 2013-14.

Allen (lower-body) has been placed on injured reserve.

Allen has not played yet this season and is not all that close to returning from a lower-body injury. Placing him on IR allows the Ducks to make some roster moves without having to send anyone down. Allen is eligible to play whenever he is healthy.

Bryan Allen
Allen (foot) will not play Tuesday vs. Boston.

Allen has been playing with a foot injury that will now keep him out of the lineup and likely put him on injured reserve. Allen has seven assists and a plus-13 rating in 40 games this season. Mark Fistric will enter the lineup in Allen's place.

Allen (lower-body) will be a game-time decision tonight.

Allen has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury he suffered last Saturday. He will take part in warmups and a decision will be made from there. If he can't go tonight, he will likely be back on Friday barring any setbacks.

Allen (lower-body) is out tonight.

Allen left Saturday's game and did not return. His injury is not serious and should be considered day-to-day. The Ducks are hopeful that he will be available for Friday's game vs. Calgary.
