Bryan Rust (lower body) is being evaluated and is expecting an update in the upcoming days.

Rust is being evaluated by the Penguins' training staff Tuesday for a lower-body injury and is considered out until there are more updates. If he is forced to miss a chunk of time it would be a shame as the 31-year-old winger is on pace for career highs in almost all categories as he has nine goals, seven assists, 55 SOG, and a +10 plus/minus through 17 games played.

Filip Chytil (upper body) has been placed on the injured reserve.

Chytil left the Rangers' previous game vs. Carolina after just 10:23 TOI due to an upper-body injury and was placed on the injured reserve Friday. The 24-year-old's injury leaves a big hole in the Rangers lineup as he had been centring their second line and had six assists, 22 SOG, and four PIMs in 10 games prior to the injury.

Filip Chytil
Rust (personal) is expected to be back in the Penguins lineup on Thursday.

Rust missed the Penguins' previous game due to the birth of his child but is expected to return to the Pittsburgh lineup Thursday vs. the New York Islanders. The 30-year-old has 15 goals, 22 assists, 162 SOG, 21 PIMs and a -6 plus/minus through 62 games this season.

Filip Chytil will play Tuesday vs. the Penguins (upper body).

Chytil left the Rangers' previous contest vs. Chicago after just 4:48 TOI due to an upper-body injury but still managed to pick up a goal and an assist with two SOG in his limited time. There was a chance he would be forced to miss Tuesday, but he announced in the morning that he is "good to go" and will play vs. Pittsburgh.

Filip Chytil
Chytil (upper-body) is questionable to play Monday in Pittsburgh.

Chytil collected one goal and one assist in 4:48 TOI before exiting Sunday's game in Chicago with an upper-body injury. After Chytil left, Barclay Goodrow moved to centre, and Vitaly Kravtsov moved up the lineup, look for that to remain if he can't go Tuesday.

Filip Chytil
Filip Chytil is expected to return to the lineup on Wednesday (lower body)

Chytil missed the Rangers' previous two contests due to a lower-body injury but is expected to return Wednesday. It will be a welcome return for the 23-year-old, who has four goals, 11 points and is a +6 with 30 SOG through 19 GP this season.

Filip Chytil
Chytil (upper-body) is not expected to play Saturday in Boston.

Chytil suffered an upper-body injury against the Islanders on Thursday and is not expected to play Saturday in Boston. With both Chytil and Andrew Copp (lower-body) not likely to be available, look for two of Jonny Brodzinski, Greg McKegg and/or Julien Gauthier to draw into the lineup.
