The Flyers have acquired Byron Froese and David Schlemko from the Canadiens for Dale Weise and Christian Folin.
Froese will be back in the Canadiens lineup on Saturday.

The Canadiens have signed Byron Froese to a two-year extension worth $1.15M ($575K AAV).
Froese had 39 points (24G / 15A) in 48 games with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) before being traded to Tampa Bay for Brian Boyle last season. The 26-year-old added seven more points with the Lightning’s affiliate, but has managed to record just five points (2G / 3A) in 62 career NHL contests. Froese is an extremely hard worker and that just might be enough to land him a spot with the Canadiens out of training camp.

Froese, 26, was a part of the Brian Boyle trade that sent the forward to Toronto. Froese has two goals and one assist in two games with Syracuse since the trade, which gives him 26 goals and 16 assists (42 points) in 50 AHL games this season. He is expected to make his Lightning debut on Monday.

The Maple Leafs have sent Bryron Froese to Toronto (AHL).
Froese appeared in two games with the Maple Leafs, but has been a healthy scratch for the last three games. The 25-year-old returns to the Marlies, where he has 12 goals and five assists (17 points) in 27 games this season.

Froese is out indefinitely with a broken hand he suffered on Saturday.
Froese suffered a broken hand after being hit in the hand by a P.K Subban shot in the Maple Leafs loss to the Canadiens on Saturday. Froese had five points (2G / 3A) in 50 games this season.
Froese will make his NHL debut on Saturday vs. Montreal.
Froese, 24, scored three goals in three games with the Marlies before being recalled. Tonight he will make his NHL debut on the Maple Leafs fourth line with P.A Parenteau and Michael Grabner.
