Calvin de Haan News

de Haan will be back in the Blackhawks lineup on Monday.

de Haan did not play Saturday in Nashville but will replace Riley Stillman in the lineup on Monday. de Haan is dealing with some bumps and bruises, so this could be a common theme for him down the stretch. After just one goal in his first 60 games of the season, de Haan has three goals in his last seven games.

de Haan will undergo right shoulder surgery and miss the rest of the season; has been placed on LTIR.

This is the second time in less than a year that de Haan has underwent major surgery on his right shoulder, which is obviously troubling for the Blackhawks who have him under contract through the 2021-22 season. With de Haan out for the year and being moved to LTIR, the Blackhawks gain $4.55M in salary cap relief but it will be difficult for them to replace de Haan through their minor league system or through a trade.

de Haan (shoulder) will not play in the Blackhawks season opener.

de Haan has been questionable leading up to the Blackhawks season opener in Prague but was officially ruled out a few hours prior to puck-drop. Dennis Gilbert will play in his second career NHL game in de Haan's spot on the Blackhawks blueline.
