The Penguins have acquired Carl Hagelin from the Ducks for David Perron and Adam Clendening.

Hagelin has three years left on his deal that carries a $4M cap-hit. Hagelin had a tough three and a half months with the Ducks, scoring just four goals with eight assists (12 points) in 43 games. He is a speedy winger with good offensive and defensive zone abilities. He should make his Penguins debut on Sunday vs. the Hurricanes.

The Ducks signed Carl Hagelin to a four-year, $16M contract on Friday.

Hagelin, 26, was traded to the Ducks this summer because the Rangers were up against the salary cap. Hagelin was a restricted free agent who had arbitration rights but opted not to file in a move seen as a sign that the winger and the Ducks were set on getting their new association off on the right foot. He had 17 goals and 18 assists (35 points) in 82 games with the Rangers last season.

Hagelin (shoulder) will make his season debut tonight.

Hagelin has sat out the start of the season after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. With all the injuries that the Rangers are dealing with right now, getting the speedy Hagelin back will help. The 25-year-old scored 10 goals and added 14 assists (24 points) in 48 games last season. There is no word on who Hagelin will play with yet.

Carl Hagelin, eligible to return to the lineup on Oct. 29, is skating as an extra forward.

Hagelin has missed every game this season after offseason shoulder surgery. His return would help an injury depleted Rangers lineup. He is a speedy-winger who was very streaky last season but finished with 10 goals and 14 assists (24 points) in 48 games.

The good news for the Rangers is Carl Hagelin will be returning to the lineup after serving a three-game suspension for his elbow to the head of Sens captain Daniel Alfredsson (concussion) in Game 2.

The Rangers could use Hagelin's offensive boost. He'll likely take Boyle's spot in the lineup.
