The Penguins have acquired Conor Sheary and Evan Rodrigues from the Sabres for Dominik Kahun.

Sheary returns to Pittsburgh after a two-year stint in Buffalo. Sheary has failed to replicate his production from his 52-point breakout campaign in 2017, averaging just 32 points over the last two seasons. He is set to become an unrestricted free-agent on July 1st.

Sheary is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

Sheary will miss a couple of weeks with an upper-body injury that it is believed he suffered late in Monday’s overtime loss. Evan Rodrigues will make his season debut replacing Sheary on Wednesday and will likely be his permanent replacement for the next couple of weeks.

Sheary (upper-body) is expected to be back in the Sabres lineup on Tuesday.

Sheary has missed the last four games with an upper-body injury but is expected to be back in the lineup against the Maple Leafs. Sheary is still listed as a game-time decision but is expected to play. Sheary has 12 points (6G / 6A) in 24 games this season.

Sheary (upper-body) should be back for opening night.

Sheary will miss the rest of the preseason but the Sabres expect their new winger to be ready for the first game of the season vs. the Bruins (Oct. 4). Sheary was projected to play in the Sabres’ top-6, but this injury could lead to him playing in the bottom-6 to start the season. Sheary will need to play with Jack Eichel or Casey Mittelstadt if he’s going to have any fantasy value this season.

Sheary (lower-body) traveled to Dallas and could play on Friday.

Sheary has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury, but he was on the ice for Thursday’s practice and could play tonight in Dallas. Sheary, who has 19 points (12G / 7A) in 52 games this season, skated on a line with Riley Sheahan and Zach Aston-Reese. Monitor his status during the Penguins’ morning skate.
