Coach Joel Quenneville said it's likely the Hawks will play seven defensemen against the Stars on Friday night.
Three of the four bottom pairing defenders -- Sami Lepisto, Sean O'Donnell, John Scott or Steve Montador -- will be scratched tomorrow. Updates to follow.
Hawks also announced they had signed free agent defenseman Sam Lepisto to a one-year deal.
