The Stars signed Dillon Heatherington to a one-year, two-way extension.
The Stars have recalled Dillon Heatherington from Texas (AHL).
Heatherington has one assist in five games with the Stars this season but has spent most of the season in Texas, where he has picked up 17 points (3G / 14A) across 52 contests. Marc Methot was hurt on Tuesday, so Julius Honka will likely draw into the lineup on Tuesday, leaving Heatherington as the Stars seventh defenseman.
Heatherington will draw into the Stars lineup on Friday.
Heatherington has been a healthy scratch for the last five games but head coach Ken Hitchcock said that he will be back in tonight, on the second game of a back-to-back. Julius Honka left yesterday’s game with an upper-body injury, so it seems highly unlikely that he will play tonight. Regardless of who comes out, Heatherington will be back in. He has no points in four games with the Stars.
Heatherington will make his NHL debut on Thursday.
Heatherington, 22, has been practicing with the Stars but will finally draw into the lineup on Thursday. The former second round pick (No.50 in 2013) had three goals and 10 assists (13 points) in 39 games with Texas (AHL) prior to his recall. Heatherington has complied 47 points (9G / 38A) in 165 career AHL contests.
