Kubalik (hip) will be a game-time decision on Monday.

Kubalik has missed the last four games with a minor hip injury but he took line rushes in Monday's morning skate, and could play vs. the Predators. The Senators did not commit to him being back, so consider him a game-time decision. Kubalik has just nine goals and three assists (12 points) in 41 games this season.

The Senators acquired Dominik Kubalik, Donovan Sebrango, a conditional 2024 1st round pick, and a 2024 4th round pick from the Red Wings for Alex DeBrincat.

The Senators get an NHL-ready winger to help replace the loss of DeBrincat. Kubalik had a nice 202-23 season, scoring 20 goals with 25 assists (45 points) in 81 games for the Red Wings. However, Kubalik struggled with consistency. He posted 25 points (10G / 15A) in his first 25 games of the season but finished with just 20 points (10G / 10A) in his final 56 games. For now, Kubalik looks like a potential top-6 fit for the Senators but may best as a third-liner with Shane Pinto.

Kubalik will be a healthy scratch on Thursday.

Kubalik has 14 goals, 20 assists, 118 SOG, 12 PIMs and a -9 plus/minus through 49 games with the Red Wings this season but will be a healthy scratch Thursday. Kubalik has found himself slipping down the Wings' lineup after starting his Detroit tenure incredibly hot with 25 points (10G/15A) through his first 25 games.

The Blackhawks have re-signed Dominik Kubalik to a two-year extension worth $7.4 million ($3.7M AAV).

After coming over from Switzerland, Kubalik made an immediate impact, scoring 30 goals with 16 assists (46 points) in 68 games for the Blackhawks. He had a strong postseason run as well, posting eight points (4G / 4A) in nine games. With his ELC expiring, Kubalik signs a two-year deal with a $3.7M AAV cap-hit--a terrific deal for Chicago.
