Doughty missed the Kings' previous game Sunday due to a lower-body injury but should return Tuesday as Los Angeles takes on Buffalo. The 33-year-old has a goal, 16 assists, 52 SOG and seven PIMs while averaging 26:20 TOI as the Kings' top defenseman.
Doughty has not played since March 7th and underwent wrist surgery on Monday, which will end his 2022 season. This is a huge blow for the Kings, who are currently third in the Pacific Division and trending towards a playoff spot. The Kings announced that Doughty is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of the 2022-23 season.
Doughty participated in Wednesday's practice but will not be available on Thursday. Doughty is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury and will be replaced by Jordan Spence, who will be making his NHL debut.
Doughty has not played since October 22nd but will return to the lineup on Tuesday. Doughty will skate with Mikey Anderson on the top pair and should be back on PP1 as well.
Doughty suffered a tibial plateau contusion on October 22nd and is three weeks into an eight-week timetable. Doughty practiced in a non-contact sweater and appears to be ahead of schedule in his recovery. As of now, he remains out indefinitely.
Doughty was hurt in a knee-on-knee collision in Dallas last Friday and will miss at least two months. The Kings announced on Wednesday that Doughty could be back on the ice in six weeks but likely won't play until late December. With Sean Walker also out, Matt Roy has taken over as the PP1 quarterback for the Kings.
Doughty was forced to leave Tuesday's game vs. the Sharks after being hit in the chest by a Brent Burns shot. Doughty missed Wednesday's practice and the Kings called him day-to-day. They added that they hope he'll be back on the ice on Thursday, so there seems like a chance that he'll play in the rematch vs. the Sharks.
Doughty missed Monday's practice and Wednesday's optional morning skate, suggesting he won't be available for tonight's game vs. the Lightning. Derek Forbort is also unlikely to play, so look for Sean Walker and Alec Martinez to play massive minutes for the Kings.
Doughty, who will turn 29 in December, is signed through the 2026-27 season. Doughty has played in all 82 games for four straight seasons, ranking eighth among defensemen in points (201) and tied for 16th in goals (43) over that span. Doughty will become the highest-paid blueliner when his extension kicks in.
Doughty has been battling an upper-body injury, no word if he has re-aggravated the injury or if this is just rest related.
Doughty missed Saturday's game with an upper-body injury, but could be back in the lineup on Wednesday. He is listed as day-to-day, and he could be held out on Wednesday to rest prior to the post-season.
Campbell, 26, is in his sixth year with the Manchester Monarchs. He has three goals and 13 assists (16 points) in 68 games this season. Drew Doughty likely won't be playing because of an upper-body injury, which opens the door for Campbell.
Doughty was injured in the Kings' loss to the Sharks on Thursday. He does not have a stall in the Kings' dressing room which suggests that he is out. Head coach Darryl Sutter called him day-to-day--another sign he will not play.
