Lack allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Hurricanes win in Calgary on Thursday. It was a much better performance than his season debut and earned him a second straight start. Tonight he faces a Philadelphia team that has lost three straight games but they’ve been averaging 3.25 goals per game so far this season.

Lack allowed four goals on 31 shots in the Hurricanes’ loss in Vancouver on Sunday. The Hurricanes were unable to hold onto a big lead for the second straight game and have yet to win this season. Tonight he will take on a Calgary team that has started 1-2-1 while scoring 3.00 goals per game.

Cam Ward started the Hurricanes’ season opener on Thursday, but they will turn to Lack in game No.2 in Vancouver. Lack spent the first two years of his career with the Canucks, so tonight will be a homecoming of sorts. He faced his former team once last year and allowed three goals on 21 shots in a losing effort.

He has a good matchup on home-ice vs. an Islanders team that has lost seven of nine—Lack is 4-5-1 with a 2.51 GAA and .907 SV% at PNC Arena this season.

Lack has gone 7-6-4 with a 2.71 GAA and .902 SV% in 16 starts on the road this season Tonight he draws a rough matchup in his second start vs. the Penguins of the season—he was lit up for five goals on 32 shots in a 5-0 loss back in mid-January.

Lack has turned things around and makes for a reasonable option tonight vs. the Flames—Calgary has lost five of their last six games coming into tonight.

He has either played really well or really poorly and tonight has the makings of a poor outing. The NHL’s hottest team is in town, so I can guarantee there are better options out there.
