Eric Fehr News

Defencemen Dustin Byfuglien (leg) and Ron Hainsey (ankle), along with centre Nik Antropov (foot) and right winger Eric Fehr (shoulder), are all questionable for Tuesday’s home game against the Wild, who sport the league’s best record at 20-7-3.

Fehr was seen practicing at a higher level this morning so he may be healthy enough to draw back in. The Winkler native has only one assist through five games.

Fehr not on the ice. Will ask coach Noel about his status.

Doesn't sound like Fehr is close to returning to the lineup. Fehr has only played in five games for his hometown team, registering an assist. He figures to slot in on a checking line with undesirable linemates which directly effects his fantasy hockey value.

#winnipegjets head coach Claude Noel also said that RW Eric Fehr (shoulder) to be ready on the weekend

The right-winger has been cleared to play after having shoulder surgery in May, but head coach Claude Noel plans to ease him back into the fold. He won’t play against the Washington Capitals on Thursday night at MTS Centre.

The Winkler native is sure to be pumped about his hometown debut. As a former 21-goal scorer so he holds fringe fantasy hockey value.

Eric Fehr took another step toward making his debut with the Winnipeg Jets, but he’s still at least a few weeks away from getting into a full practice.

Fehr continues to be sidelined following offseason surgery. The local RW should find his way onto one of the top two lines upon his arrival as has proven himself to be a worthy goal scorer in the NHL. His last three seasons have consisted of 10, 21 and 12 goal seasons but a return to the 20-goal range over a full season is not far fetched.

Although the Winkler product continues to make progress from off-season shoulder surgery, he simply won’t be ready in time.

Playing a full, healthy season in his hometown was supposed to vault Fehr back to fantasy hockey relevance. The former 20-goal scorer now can see his value slightly diminish due to his slower recovery. Draft carefully with a contingency plan.
