Karlsson missed the first five games of the season, but took off his no-contact sweater on Monday and skated alongside Dion Phaneuf in practice. After the session Karlsson confirmed that he will make his season debut on Tuesday. The Senators have yet to lose in regulation (3-0-2) and getting their captain back will be a massive boost. Karlsson has missed the first five games of the season as he recovers from offseason foot surgery, but he was cleared for contact and skated as a regular in today’s practice which suggests his season debut is just around the corner. Karlsson confirms he will play tonight.
He was expected to miss 4-6 months when he had his Achilles tendon 70% severed in February. It is almost unbelievable but Karlsson will in fact be in the Senators lineup tonight. He will be paired with Marc Methot. If you picked him up in a daily league, you're probably pretty happy right now. Get him in your lineup!

Karlsson out there for #Sens morning skate again.
Karlsson is practicing again this morning. He looks like he is ready to return to the Senators lineup soon, which is nothing short of miraculous. If he is available in your league, pick him up. The healing of Erik Karlsson’s severed Achilles tendon is going well but there is no timeline for his return to action, his agent, Craig Oster, said Wednesday morning. In an email message, Oster said care will be taken to make sure Karlsson is “fully healthy” before he returns.
Karlsson was injured in a Feb. 13 game against the Pittsburgh Penguins when his left Achilles was cut by Matt Cooke’s left skate. He had surgery to repair the tendon the next day. He has been skating for 30-40 minutes daily at the Bell Sensplex, fueling speculation he may return this season.
