Frederik Andersen News

Andersen is expected to start for the Ducks.

Andersen allowed three goals on 23 shots in a loss to the Sharks on December 29. He has become a traditional back-up lately with Jonas Hiller absolutely sizzling right now. With the Ducks heading into a busy weekend, Andersen is expected to give Hiller a breather vs. the Predators. Andersen is 5-2-0 with a 2.30 GAA and .910 SV% on the road.

Andersen allowed three goals on 21 shots in a win over the Islanders on December 21. He continues to play well, but Jonas HIller is red-hot right now so it has been hard to find Andersen starts. Tonight he will face the Sharks in San Jose, he is 5-1-0 with a 2.18 GAA and .916 SV% on the road.

Andersen is the first goalie off of the ice at Ducks' morning skate; he starts.

Andersen turned aside 19 of 21 shots in a win over the Flames on November 29. THe next three starts went to Jonas Hiller, but Andersen gets the nod tonight. He has yet to face the Blues, but the 24-year-old rookie is 3-1-0 with a 2.01 GAA and .925 SV% on the road, slightly worse than his home numbers (4-0-0 / 1.36 / .954).

Andersen leads the Ducks onto the ice for warm-ups, he starts.

Andersen will make his first start for the Ducks since November 12. He was recalled last week with Viktor Fasth out with an injury. He has won six of his seven starts with a 1.66 GAA and .943 SV% this season. He draws a strong matchup vs. the Flames.

The Ducks have recalled Frederik Andersen from Norfolk on Saturday.

In seven starts with Ducks this season, Andersen is 6-1-0 with a 1.66 GAA and .943 SV%. Viktor Fasth has been placed on IR and will miss the next 3-4 week, so Andersen re-gains some of that fantasy value he had earlier this month.

The Ducks have reassigned Frederik Andersen to Norfolk (AHL).

Andersen was 6-1-0 with a 1.66 GAA and .943 SV% in seven starts while Viktor Fasth was out. He will head to Norfolk and man the net with John Gibson. I think it is obvious that the Ducks have a strong future goalie in Andersen.

Andersen gave up one goal on 33 shots in a win over the Rangers on Monday. He has been excellent since filling in for Viktor Fasth as the Ducks second goalie. Andersen is 4-0-0 with a 1.36 GAA and .952 SV% and has great matchup 3-13-1 Sabres making a stop in Anaheim tonight.

Andersen starts vs. Rangers.

Andersen allowed three goals on 21 shots in a win over the Blue Jackets on October 27. The win moved him to 3-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .944 SV% as he continues to fill in for the injured Viktor Fasth. He will face the Rangers and their 27th ranked offence tonight. On a quiet night in the NHL he would be the best spot start option.

Boudreau hinted last night and Frederik Andersen expected to make first NHL start for Ducks against Senators.

Anderson stopped all 24 shots he faced in a relief effete on Sunday. Tonight he will likely make his first NHL start when the Ducks take on the Senators. It is a decent matchup, but it would be a risky spot start.

The Ducks have recalled right wing Devante Smith-Pelly, goaltender Frederik Andersen and left wing Patrick Maroon from the Norfolk Admirals.

Andersen, 23 (10/2/89), appeared in 47 games for Norfolk this season, going 24-18-1 with a 2.19 goals-against average (GAA) and .929 save percentage (SV%). Selected in the third round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, the Herning, Denmark native ranked sixth among AHL goaltenders in GAA (third among rookies), second in SV% (first among rookies), tied for ninth in wins (second among rookies) and tied for 11th in shutouts (tied for third among rookies).
