Claesson has been a healthy scratch for the last four games, but will get back into the lineup tonight in Columbus. Claesson will replace someone who is sick, but the Senators would not reveal who that defenseman is. Claesson has no points and has averaged 10:27 TOI in eight games this season.

Claesson hasn’t played with the Senators since November 13th, but will play tonight with Marc Methot injured. Claesson has no points while averaging 11:45 TOI in six games this season, but he will skate with Erik Karlsson tonight, which means he could play bigger minutes.

Claesson, 23, was a fifth round pick (126th overall) in 2011 and finally made it to the NHL in 2015-16. He spent most of the year with Binghamton (AHL), but appeared in 16 NHL games, but collecting just two assists. During his time in the AHL, Claesson had 10 points (3G / 7A) in 55 contests. He will look to crack the Senators’ opening night roster in training camp.

Claesson, 23, was a fifth round pick (126th overall) in 2011 and has appeared in eight games with the Senators this season. He has spent the majority of the year with Binghamton, where he has 10 points (3G / 7A) in 55 games. He will replace Dion Phaneuf in the lineup tonight and until he can return from a lower-body injury he suffered last night.
